Property Overview

Why we like it

  • The landscaped pool and hot tub area with waterfall features is a highlight
  • Players Restaurant & Lounge offers classic favorites including steak, and pasta
  • Plush cabana seating by the fire pit makes for a warm evening of conversation and fun
  • Every room is spacious, but the suites will give you even more room to spread out before bed
  • This hotel is right in the crook of a freeway interchange, but it’s remarkably quiet in your room

What do you need to know

  • The sports club inside is very much a full-service complex, including hundreds of machines and thousands of pounds of free weights as a start
  • The hotel bar isn’t quite as big as the connected gym, but it’s still a great place to start or end your night
  • Pet-friendly rooms are available for a simple fee if you want to bring your favorite quadruped along
  • Make your stay contactless with digital check-in and digital keys
  • A full breakfast buffet is available daily, but is not included in your rate

The DoubleTree Pleasanton at the Club receives mixed reviews, with highlights including its convenient location near the freeway and access to the Club amenities. However, concerns frequently revolve around inconsistent customer service, dated facilities, and cleanliness issues, particularly related to noise and room upkeep. Recent reviews indicate a decline in service quality and overall property maintenance.

Staff is excellent here. Food was good. Location is OK. Really close to freeway, but no noticeable noise issue. The pool though. Only reason it isn't five stars, is because the big beautiful pool has absolutely no shade anywhere near it. None. Nada. That's just wrong.

Enjoyed my stay. The room was comfy, great location, and cookies were delicious. Jasmine at the front desk was very helpful and very kind. She assisted me greatly over the phone when I called about checking in and also assisted me once I got there to check in and when I checked out.

This hotel honestly made me question my loyalty to Hilton. If you’re a Hilton Honors member , especially Gold or Diamond, I would strongly recommend staying at a different property. The biggest issue was how difficult they made it to receive benefits that are supposed to be standard. I had to repeatedly argue to have my credits applied correctly, which turned what should have been a simple stay into an uncomfortable experience. I dealt directly with the manager, C. De La Cruz, and found him to be unprofessional, dismissive, and unnecessarily rude throughout the interaction. Hoping for a better resolution, I even contacted the Hilton Diamond line, but that experience was equally disappointing. The representative was unfriendly, unwilling to offer any meaningful resolution or goodwill credit, and actually told me that doing so “would not be polite,” which was honestly shocking customer service for a loyalty program at this level. The rooms themselves were decent and housekeeping did a good job, but the property overall feels dated and in need of renovation, especially the carpeting.

We were checked into a room with a broken toilet… how we knew this is shortly after nearly avoiding a disaster maintenance showed up to fix the toilet reported by house keeping. Paid more for pool side patio room. The room had no view of pool and instead the access and view was blocked by hedge and the grass area seemed to be a dog run area. The staff at the desk were untrained and unwelcoming. The location is great easy on and off. The access to the bay club is nice add on to the amenities.

I’m not sure what’s going on in the second floor and why they allow smoking in their hotels when it clearly says it’s a smoke-free facility, but there was some kind of air freshener outside of this room and it smelled so bad like cigarettes and death. You could hear somebody coughing on the inside of the door. Absolutely disgusting, the whole second floor smelled so bad. And when I went to the front desk to speak to the attendant about it, she was super nice and she said she would notify management. I’m pretty sure management knows that this is going on because you can’t have a whole second floor smelling like cigarette smoke coming through the air vents. They try to mask it by spraying some perfumes, but it’s awful. I will never come here again. $480.00 for a Vegas-smelling room. No thanks. I will more than likely be submitting a dry cleaning bill. Because this will not wash out the smell with normal laundry cleaning.

I'm not the type to get hyperbolic about reviews, nor am I the type to get strictly upset at those who provide me a service. I travel for work and I've stayed at over 500 hotels in the last 2 years of my life, and I'm going to tell you that this is the best one I've ever stayed at between every two and five star hotel in every state in the US and province in Canada. That is not just down to the location which is amazing, quiet and beautiful, that's also down to the service. Thank you so much to this Hotel staff and crew, I had an amazing stay here and I can't wait to come back!

Very disinterested staff upon check-in. Any questions we had were met with really don't know. Maybe you should check again in the morning like every other Hilton property that's not top tier. There is absolutely no way to get breakfast or lunch and when we were there even the option to get dinner were limited due to a wedding. I understand that. I don't understand why holton doesn't offer even room service for lunch. I guess it's the cut cost. Hotel itself was in need of a renovation. The rooms were on par with a motel. 6. In my opinion not that ever been in one but if I imagine what a motel 6 room look like it would be this one. I can tell you the company points to Hilton properties, but I rather pay for things out of my pocket and go to a Marriott property. Even Marriott's lowest end hotels make the lower end. Hilton hotels just seems so cheap. Marriott is always bright. The lower end Hilton hotels are just dreary. I will say I've stayed at some higher end Hilton hotels 400 plus dollars a night and I like those but anything under high-end Hilton I would say pass

This is a older property but very well maintained. I enjoyed the one night I stayed. The room was clean, no stains on the carpets and the sofa even had fresh vacuum marks. There is plenty of parking and its right next to the freeway so the location is ideal. Check in was a breeze and the staff represented the Hilton brand to the T! I definitely will consider this property again when I dont feel like making that long commute to work.

Stayed here before Christmas Eve, I’m from Pleasanton so I’m familiar with the location and facilities. The desk manager C was very helpful and outstanding on the check in but everything from there was all downhill. This is supposed to be a quiet location, it was loud all night, and around 5am it was extremely loud, housekeeping tried to enter the room extremely loudly at 7:50AM. Was not a restful or pleasant night. Constant banging and noises from 4am to 9am, I just decided to leave due to noise. The rooms are clean and nice, but defeats the purpose of not having any rest. I don’t know if they dropped the ball because of the holiday but I don’t recommend staying here over other hotels.

I stayed here one night visiting friends in the Bay Area as a central location. I booked on Bookings.com and had a price confirmation. I wanted to confirm that was with a pet so I wrote them to notify them and they confirmed and sent the booking price again. I stayed in this room from 6 pm and left around 6 am leaving the room as was other my sleeping in the bed. My dog is older, quiet, potty trained and you would not have known it was there. I was told upon check in with my dog that I would see a deposit removed that was refundable after room was observed. It was never returned. When I called they said it would take up to 5 business days. Still wasn’t refunded. Then I was told it was a pet deposit. Not mentioned online, not mentioned in person, not mentioned when I called, but mentioned after not refunded. This location was central, clean but also right near the freeway which is why I thought it was so cheap. I would not have chosen this property for the price they charged me for one night had it been advertised correctly. This is bad business practice from a communication standpoint. Not honoring what they put in writing and what they verbally told me over the phone seems like a shady business practice to me. I would not recommend staying here unless you get solid confirmation on the price.
