Guests generally praise the DoubleTree Pleasanton for its spacious rooms (especially on the poolside), convenient location near freeways, and exceptional service, often citing specific staff members like Crystal. However, the property is widely described as dated and in need of renovation, and several recent reviews raise serious concerns about inconsistent cleanliness, noisy rooms, and disputes over deposits and early check-out fees.

Exceptional staff with several guests highlighting specific individuals for outstanding serviceSpacious, clean rooms often described as well-maintained with updated bedding and amenitiesPrime location near the freeway for commuting and ease of travelHigh-quality perks including complimentary温水欢迎饼干 and access to a large poolQuiet and peaceful locale, particularly on the poolside, away from the busy interchange

I’m not sure what’s going on in the second floor and why they allow smoking in their hotels when it clearly says it’s a smoke-free facility, but there was some kind of air freshener outside of this room and it smelled so bad like cigarettes and death. You could hear somebody coughing on the inside of the door. Absolutely disgusting, the whole second floor smelled so bad. And when I went to the front desk to speak to the attendant about it, she was super nice and she said she would notify management. I’m pretty sure management knows that this is going on because you can’t have a whole second floor smelling like cigarette smoke coming through the air vents. They try to mask it by spraying some perfumes, but it’s awful. I will never come here again. $480.00 for a Vegas-smelling room. No thanks. I will more than likely be submitting a dry cleaning bill. Because this will not wash out the smell with normal laundry cleaning.

I'm not the type to get hyperbolic about reviews, nor am I the type to get strictly upset at those who provide me a service. I travel for work and I've stayed at over 500 hotels in the last 2 years of my life, and I'm going to tell you that this is the best one I've ever stayed at between every two and five star hotel in every state in the US and province in Canada. That is not just down to the location which is amazing, quiet and beautiful, that's also down to the service. Thank you so much to this Hotel staff and crew, I had an amazing stay here and I can't wait to come back!

Very disinterested staff upon check-in. Any questions we had were met with really don't know. Maybe you should check again in the morning like every other Hilton property that's not top tier. There is absolutely no way to get breakfast or lunch and when we were there even the option to get dinner were limited due to a wedding. I understand that. I don't understand why holton doesn't offer even room service for lunch. I guess it's the cut cost. Hotel itself was in need of a renovation. The rooms were on par with a motel. 6. In my opinion not that ever been in one but if I imagine what a motel 6 room look like it would be this one. I can tell you the company points to Hilton properties, but I rather pay for things out of my pocket and go to a Marriott property. Even Marriott's lowest end hotels make the lower end. Hilton hotels just seems so cheap. Marriott is always bright. The lower end Hilton hotels are just dreary. I will say I've stayed at some higher end Hilton hotels 400 plus dollars a night and I like those but anything under high-end Hilton I would say pass

This is a older property but very well maintained. I enjoyed the one night I stayed. The room was clean, no stains on the carpets and the sofa even had fresh vacuum marks. There is plenty of parking and its right next to the freeway so the location is ideal. Check in was a breeze and the staff represented the Hilton brand to the T! I definitely will consider this property again when I dont feel like making that long commute to work.

Stayed here before Christmas Eve, I’m from Pleasanton so I’m familiar with the location and facilities. The desk manager C was very helpful and outstanding on the check in but everything from there was all downhill. This is supposed to be a quiet location, it was loud all night, and around 5am it was extremely loud, housekeeping tried to enter the room extremely loudly at 7:50AM. Was not a restful or pleasant night. Constant banging and noises from 4am to 9am, I just decided to leave due to noise. The rooms are clean and nice, but defeats the purpose of not having any rest. I don’t know if they dropped the ball because of the holiday but I don’t recommend staying here over other hotels.

I stayed here one night visiting friends in the Bay Area as a central location. I booked on Bookings.com and had a price confirmation. I wanted to confirm that was with a pet so I wrote them to notify them and they confirmed and sent the booking price again. I stayed in this room from 6 pm and left around 6 am leaving the room as was other my sleeping in the bed. My dog is older, quiet, potty trained and you would not have known it was there. I was told upon check in with my dog that I would see a deposit removed that was refundable after room was observed. It was never returned. When I called they said it would take up to 5 business days. Still wasn’t refunded. Then I was told it was a pet deposit. Not mentioned online, not mentioned in person, not mentioned when I called, but mentioned after not refunded. This location was central, clean but also right near the freeway which is why I thought it was so cheap. I would not have chosen this property for the price they charged me for one night had it been advertised correctly. This is bad business practice from a communication standpoint. Not honoring what they put in writing and what they verbally told me over the phone seems like a shady business practice to me. I would not recommend staying here unless you get solid confirmation on the price.

Rooms clean but hotel is a little dated. I would certainly stay again but could use a little refresh. Staff is friendly and having access to the gym next door was nice.

Location is great. Food service is good. Always clean. Feels safe as single traveler. This is probably my 10th stay in last 2 years which is often more than 1 night.

I have been staying at this DoubleTree for years. Rather I'm coming home to the East Bay to visit family and friends, or back home for a work-related trip, this is always an ideal hotel. Being I travel for a living (domestic and international), I have high expectations when it comes to lodging. Having said that, I respect the 'you get what you pay for' saying. In this instance I would use the expression 'great bang for-the-buck'. They always have reasonable rates when I stay here, especially when comparing to other local hotels specifically in Pleasanton. While the rooms are a bit dated, they are very spacious, and have the modern updates like bedding and large screen tv. I always get a great night sleep when staying here-- just be sure to get a room on the poolside. The front of the hotel faces the 580/680 interchange which can be a little noisy, even with the sound suppressing windows they outfitted the property with. Now for the perks! I believe it's for everyone, but they provide warm cookies at check-in. The super-friendly staff will also hook you up anytime of day with one. My last stay here I was getting up early to take calls by the pool. I may or may not have asked for said cookie at 8:15a, and they hooked it up! The rooms also come with two bottles of water, especially nice for travelers getting in late and needing the basics waiting in the room. Another bonus is free access to The Club! This place has everything; spa, sauna, tons of equipment and a great staff. In my opinion, this hotel is a little oasis in the East Bay. The pool area is fantastic. They have a large pool and hot tub, complete with a beautiful waterfall. There's also plenty of tables and lounging areas to just relax after a long day of play or meetings. The DoubleTree in Pleasanton will continue to be my go-to hotel whenever I'm back in the East Bay.

My company booked this hotel for me for a business trip. The reservation was under my coworker’s name, but he added me as an additional check-in guest. He booked through the Hilton website, and we had a confirmation letter as proof. When I tried to check in, the front desk staff refused and said he couldn’t find my name. I showed him the confirmation letter, but he wouldn’t even look at it. This happened after a very long day—my flight had been delayed almost four hours and I arrived around midnight. The staff insisted I call my coworker, even though it was 4 a.m. for him on the East Coast. Of course, he didn’t pick up. I was extremely frustrated, and only after some time did the staff finally let me check in—probably because he felt guilty in the end. Interestingly, my other coworker checked in the next day under the same booking arrangement and had no issues at all. That makes me think the problem was with that particular staff member. I should have asked for his name so I could file a complaint. As for the room itself—it was spacious, but quite old and had a faint, unpleasant smell. The gym in the club center was large, which was a plus. Unfortunately, the check-in experience was terrible and left me with a poor overall impression of the hotel.
